ASER Abstract Submission Guidelines
and Step By Step Instructions

Step One: When you are entering the site for the first time, you will need to set up an account. Click on the New User Account Icon to create your account. If you have already created an account this year, simply type in your email address to enter the site.

  • On the next page, you may either add a new abstract or edit one that has already been uploaded.

Step Two: Enter the corresponding author’s contact information

Step Three: Enter the presenting author’s contact information

Step Four: Submit all author affiliations.

• Please list the places of employment with which all authors are affiliated
(institutions, universities or other) in any order by clicking on the "Add Affiliation" button.

  • A window will pop up with a submission form.
  • Once you close that submission window this page should refresh with all your listed affiliations.
  • Please add an affiliation only once.
  • These affiliations will be assigned to specific authors in the next step

Step Five: Submit Author List in Order

  • The Presenting author will appear first on the abstract.
  • Please insert all authors in the order you wish for them to appear on the program and in the subsequent publication of the Emergency Radiology Journal.
  • Authors are to be submitted using Last name and First name.
  • You must resubmit the Presenting and Corresponding authors in their
    correct position within the list of Authors.
  • You may change the order of the authors later by editing the fully submitted abstract.
  • Names omitted here will NOT be printed in the final program nor Emergency Radiology

Step Six: Financial Disclosure Statement

  • For ACCME compliance purposes, now all authors listed on the abstract will need to disclose any relationships that they have with pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers, or other corporations whose products or services are related to the subject matter of the presentation topic. If all authors have nothing to disclose in relation to this activity, please check "all authors on this abstract have nothing to disclose in relation to this activity".
  • If one or more authors have something to disclose, please check: "We would like to disclose a financial interest/arrangement or affiliation with one or more organizations in the context of the subject of this presentation." Then insert the disclosure information in the appropriate fields along with the appropriate corresponding author’s name.

  • Please enter any pertinent information

Step Eight: Submission of Abstract Content

1. Presentation Preference
Please check the presentation type you wish to be considered for:
Oral, Poster or Case of the Day. If you chose Paper Presentation as your preference, please also indicate if you would also like to be considered for Poster Presentation.

2. Submission Box
    a. Scientific Abstract Submissions:

(Scientific abstract material must be limited to 2300 characters with spaces counted. Please provide: Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.)

An example of the appropriate formatting is listed below. It is not possible to paste a table or graphics of any kind into the abstract submission box on this form. This box is for text only. An associated chart or graphic file must be uploaded separately.

Purpose: The intent of this exhibit is to demonstrate some of the more unusual lesions, which may cause spinal cord compression.

Methods: MR, CT and plain film imaging feature are described for uncommon entities such as extramedullary hematopoiesis in thalassemia and myelofibrosis.

Results: the etiology of spinal cord compression included a wide spectrum of pathology including inflammatoryan infectious disease, benign and malignant tumors, vascular

Conclusion: In addition to the more common entities such as disc herniation and metastatic disease, unusual causes of spinal cord compression often need to be considered.

b. "Case of the Day" Submissions:

Please provide a brief clinical history of your challenging or interesting case in the text box provided. A formal abstract is not necessary. If the case is accepted, a one page discussion will be required for follow-up display at the meeting. You may also upload up to 3 images for review on the next page. Step Nine: Upload your Case of the Day images here.

Step Ten: Review and revise any information here.

You must hit the submit button for the abstract to be uploaded properly. You will receive an e-confirmation letter, once your abstract has been uploaded properly. You may revisit the site as many times as needed to revise information and add additional submissions prior to the deadline. On June 2, 2007, you will no longer have access to the site.
